As the industry body representing the state’s fruit, vegetable and nut growers, Queensland Fruit and Vegetable Growers (QFVG) set out to shine a spotlight on the heavy burden being placed on the horticultural industry.
For over a century, growers have endured various weather events, numerous floods and a pandemic. Yet, at the end of 2023, the challenges falling on their shoulders had never felt heavier, from rapidly rising business costs to constantly changing IR and HR policies.
To bring attention to the issues being endured by growers, QFVG engaged Bespoken to undertake an advocacy campaign aimed at raising awareness and bringing much needed change across local, state and Federal government, the supplier network and with everyday Australians. Ultimately, we needed to show Australians why it was time to stand up and say ‘We Give a Fork’ about our growers.
With our strategic media and campaign management capabilities, we delivered a 12-month “We Give a Fork” campaign to position QFVG as a strong and clear voice for the horticulture sector and drive action by addressing three key issues:
To bring these issues into the national conversation, we secured strategic media opportunities for QFVG CEO Rachel Chambers, positioning her as a leading advocate for Queensland growers and the broader horticulture sector.
Through this, QFVG not only started a conversation that showed their commitment to ensuring Queensland growers are supported by retailers, consumers and policymakers but they were also able to drive real change to support the sector’s future.
