Our 2024 causes
Helena's House
In partnership with BestLife, Helena’s House is a project centred around building an accessible home for young people living with disabilities. It is not a permanent living option for just a few, rather it’s a central point where young people can develop life skills and thrive in a positive, inclusive environment.
Helena’s House will allow for a group of friends, teenagers and young adults living with disabilities to regularly share a space for a few days or a week, supported by qualified people who know and understand them.
The aim is to create an environment that is as familiar to them as their own home; that is welcoming, accessible, safe, fun! To do so, they are planning to build a five-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Brisbane, where they can create exactly the space that these children need – accessible bathrooms, an open kitchen where meals can be prepared and shared, a physical therapy space, and a safe, sunny garden with room for a veggie patch, etc.
That will be Helena’s House. The next chapter in the BestLife story.
Share the Dignity
Growing from a grassroots local community initiative to a national charity, Share the Dignity works to make a real, on-the-ground difference to the lives of women, girls and those who menstruate who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, domestic violence, or poverty.
Through their Dignity Drives, Dignity Vending Machines, and their It’s in the Bag campaign, the team works tirelessly to distribute period products to those in need and work to achieve menstrual equity here in Australia.
So far, Share the Dignity has been able to deliver over 4 million packets of period products and over 800,000 essential-filled handbags to Australian women, girls and those who menstruate.
They are working towards their goal of ending period poverty, providing leadership in education and advocacy, and providing dignity for people facing adversity.
Little Dreamers
Little Dreamers is Australia’s leading Young Carer organisation, supporting young people who provide unpaid care for a family member affected by disability, chronic or mental illness, substance use or frail age.
Since their launch in 2009, they have become a piloting force in the Young Carer scene, developing internationally recognised programs and changing the lives of thousands of Young Carers around Australia.
They offer a range of support programs, both in-person and online, that cover a range of fields including education, employment, mental and physical health, social wellbeing, and financial literacy. Little Dreamers has reached over 6,500 young people nationwide through programs such as Dream Experience, School Holiday Programs, Big Dreamers, Dreamers Hub, and the Young Carer Job Readiness Project.
Their vision is to ensure that every Young Carer around the world is supported by someone or something by the year 2030.
We are in this together.
We are keeping things simple! There are only three steps to our Be-Causes initiative.
One
When we onboard a new client, they will learn about each of our chosen causes and how they are making an impact in our community.
Two
The client then chooses the cause closest to their heart and in turn we will make a one-off donation on their behalf.
Three
Together, we support those who need it most.
